Headline-Heart-of-Worship

Our Mission

At Heart of Worship Dance Ministry, we train dancers in Classical Ballet and Jazz.

The dancers then learn how to use dance to worship the Lord. Each class is structured to allow time to pray, read scriptures verses about worship, explaining who God is and why He deserves all our love, adoration and PRAISE! Every class has time for dancers to freely express their love to God through song, dance and using tambourines/ribbons. Dancers also learn Classical ballet and Jazz techniques at the barre, across the floor exercises and learn their dances for Recital.

Our mission is to create a Heart of Worship in every dancer!

About Our Classes

Heart of Worship offers two dance semesters.

A Fall Semester that runs from Sept- Nov and a Winter Semester that runs from Jan through May, with our Annual Recital in May.

Fall classes are different than Winter classes.

During the Fall, our classes are focused on learning/improving dance technique and allows more time for worship. Fall classes help the dancer train and prepare for the Winter Recital classes.

Our Instructors

Miss-Leah

About Miss Leah

Miss Leah has over 25 years of dance training in Classical ballet, lyrical, jazz and hip hop. She has studied dance at Pamela’s School of Dance in Dearborn, under Pamela Dunworth. She also studied at Jan’s Dance Connection, Henry Ford Community College and has attended many dance workshops with Master Dancers/choreographers from around the world, including Janice Barringer, Daryl Retter and Laurianne Gibson to name a few.

She started her ballet education at the age of 5years old and has been committed to learning and growing as a dancer ever since. She has taught dance for 6 years at Henderson’s Dance Academy, Dancing Feats in Farmington Hills and Adult Aerobic Dance & Adult Hip Hop classes at Schoolcraft College in Livonia.

She stepped down from teaching back in 2009 when her 1st daughter was born. During that time God gave her the desire and vision to one day start her own Christian Dance School. This dream became reality in January 2014. She is the proud owner of Heart of Worship Dance Ministry and feels very blessed and honored to teach dancers how to use dance to worship the Lord. It is her God-given desire to help create a true Heart of Worship in every dancer. Miss Leah is happily married and has 3 beautiful daughters, who enjoy dancing at Heart of Worship. She is also a pediatric nurse.

Miss-Sabine

About Miss Sabine

Miss Sabine was born and raised in the French Alps. At age four, she began her dance training and by the age of six started rhythmic gymnastics. Throughout her 14 years of training, she studied classical ballet, pointe, contemporary, jazz, hip-hop and rhythmic gymnastics. She devoted eight hours a week to rigorous training and was able to participate in many recitals and performances. She frequently earned high placements in over 60 competitions and traveled throughout France with her solo, duet, and team routines. One of her favorite experiences was a ten day rhythmic gymnastics training intensive she attended in Budapest, Hungary.

In July 2005, Miss Sabine moved to Michigan to be an Au Pair. She and her husband homeschool their 5 year old daughter, Lily, who is enjoying her third season of dance with Heart of Worship. Miss Sabine began teaching dance with Heart of Worship in September 2015, and thoroughly enjoys sharing God’s Word and her love of dance with her students. She considers herself very blessed to have this new opportunity to use her training to help others worship the Lord with dance!
